Dave Campbell

Lead pastor

Dave has lived in Sioux Falls since 2000 and married his college sweetheart, Mikaela. They have two boys, Griffin (age 13) and Miles (age 10). In addition to meeting Mikaela at the University of Sioux Falls, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology & Philosophy in 2008. Upon completing his undergraduate education, he began a graduate program at Sioux Falls Seminary and graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2011. After serving for almost a decade in youth ministry, Dave responded to a call from God to pursue church planting, and he joined a team of people who planted Invitation Church in the fall of 2016. In 2025, Dave joined a staff of 18th Street, a merger of Invitation Church and Trinity Baptist.

Dave spends most of his free time with his wife, Mikaela, as they chase two young boys around. He loves to play guitar, is an avid sports fan, eats black licorice, and is trying to enjoy running.

Dave Decker, Jr. has a youth ministry habit, and for the last 33+ years has been enjoying that in one way or another, including being here at 18th since 2015. Dave also co-founded and serves as the president of LightsOut (LiveLightsOut.org), a non-profit dedicated to providing soul-care for those serving under the lights.  Artists, speakers, bands on the road and out of consistent community need that very thing, and LightsOut seeks to stand in that gap.  Dave loves adventures alongside his wife Emily and their 3 fantastic adult children & 2 son-in-laws and 2 intermittently wonderful dogs; be it on his mt. bike or on boards of all kinds, outside as often as possible.

Jaden Brockell

Associate Pastor

Ministry was never on my radar growing up. In fact, if you would have asked me what my plans were after high school I would have told you that I had one dream in focus- playing college basketball. After the Lord got a hold of my heart, I surrendered that dream over to him. Eventually he replaced it with something so much better- a call to Pastoral ministry.

I attended the University of Sioux Falls where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Theology & Youth Ministry in 2019. Shortly after, the Lord laid a desire on my heart for church planting. My deepest desire is to see the local church flourish in every way and help people become passionate followers of Jesus!

I married the love of my life, Anna in 2021. We recently welcomed our first child Oaklen Brockel in April of 2024. Being a husband and a father are easily two of the greatest blessings I could have ever asked for.

Worship Leader

Music has been my life's activator and became the foundation of my everyday-worship and personal faith journey by celebrating those gifts and sharing them with everyone.  My daughters (Ophelia - almost 5, Vivian - 3) have been teaching me what it means to get the most out of life with their tenacity and passion for all things that they love and learn.

None of these many victories would exist without the love and support from Vanessa, my wife, who exemplifies what it means to achieve your dreams.  As a child I wanted to be a mechanic when I was older - which didn't happen as a career, but I still love working on cars.  It's hard to imagine any young person dreaming about being a compliance officer when they grow up, but my job allows me to bring a level of personality and creativity to an otherwise seemingly black-and-white role and industry.  It also gives me opportunities to satisfy my need for focusing on fine details and solving complex problems.  I love all coffee or tea (steep's up!) and a bike ride any day.  My favorite color is green and I don't like naps or french fries.
